Karin Adamson Psychologist
Welcome, my name is Karin Adamson and I am a clinical psychologist with over 17 years of experience working with adults in the field of mental health in both the NHS and private practice.
I have a professional registration with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC).
To improve our wellbeing, we can want to feel better or get back to how we used to be, but sometimes it can be really hard to know what we need or how to go about moving forward.
This can lead us to just keep going, hoping things will get better. Or perhaps we have tried things already but not felt like it really got us to where we wanted to be.
Both of these scenarios can leave many people feeling stuck and not knowing what to do next or even wondering if there is anything that can help them, especially if it’s something that has been troubling them for a long time.
As a highly experienced clinical psychologist, as well as an accredited EMDR consultant and CAT practitioner, I offer psychological assessment, therapy and supervision/consultation.
As no two people are the same, I offer a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor-made sessions to meet the unique needs of the individual. My specific therapy approaches, which I have gained accreditation in, are EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), CAT (Cognitive Analytic Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I have also trained in and use ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
If you are looking for support, either for yourself or someone else, you understandably will probably have a lot of questions. Hopefully, you will find the answers to those questions on this website. If not, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me and I will endeavour to help you in the best way that I can.
